Comprehensive eye test
A thorough 30-minute exam with our resident optometrist. Refraction, retinal imaging, and a real conversation about what you're seeing.
CodeIqra is a neighbourhood optical studio on Greene Street — quiet rooms, careful eye tests, and a tightly-edited wall of hand-finished frames you can actually touch.
We opened on Greene Street in the spring of 2019 with a simple idea: an optical shop should feel less like a pharmacy and more like a tailor. Soft light, soft music, and a person who has actually held every frame on the wall.
No upsells. No rush. Just careful eye tests, considered frames in Italian acetate and Japanese titanium, and lenses ground to your exact prescription in the workshop downstairs.
The whole shop runs on a short list. Walk in, book ahead, or call — every service comes with as much time as it takes.

Bring a friend, bring a coffee. We'll pull frames from the wall together until you find a pair that looks like you — not the trend.
Single-vision, progressives, blue-light and polarized — all ground in the workshop downstairs. Most prescriptions ready in 3–5 days.
Bent temple, loose hinge, scratched lens — bring it in. Most adjustments take 10 minutes at the bench and are free for life on frames bought here.
Six pairs we're particularly fond of this season — Italian acetate, Japanese titanium, and one very good vintage horn rim. Drop in to try any of them on.
Every recommendation is for you, not our margin. The optometrist is salaried — they have no incentive to add a coating you don't need.
Anything bought here gets free fittings, tightenings and nose-pad swaps forever. Drop in any time during shop hours.
One frame, one lens, one price — printed on a card. No hidden coatings or "premium" tiers. If we can't help, we'll tell you who can.
The calmest medical appointment I've ever had— and I walked out with the only pair of glasses I've worn for two years.
You'll know it by the green awning and the very large fern in the window. Walk in, ring the bell, or book ahead — whichever feels right.
30 minutes with the optometrist, followed by as long as you like at the frame wall. No obligation, no pressure — just a quiet afternoon for your eyes.
